MOVING CHILDREN TO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES
Sue Hodnett - Baptist State Convention of Michigan
FENTON, MI - Over the past several years more than 150,000 leaders and students have been involved in The Annual Children’s Ministry Day (CMD). Saturday, March 19th, marks the 8th Annual Children’s Ministry Day in Michigan where children and their leaders all across the state will actively minister as they share God’s love in their communities. Children’s Ministry Day is a national WMU event, which joins thousands of children across North America in hands-on ministry in their own communities.

The one day event seeks to encourage leaders to move children out of their churches and into their communities to do missions. It has a great impact teaching them to love others the way Jesus did. Children’s Ministry Day helps to provide students the opportunity to serve with intentionality and to understand that there are people who need to be cared for right in their own communities.
All Children in grades 1-8 are invited to participate in this free event. WMU of Michigan announced there will be 3 locations this year hosting CMD 2016 including, Harvest Baptist Church in Shelby Township, New Covenant Church in Auburn Hills, and Southfield Road Baptist Church in Allen Park. Activities are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM and a free pizza lunch will be served afterward. Each location will offer a Mission Study as well as a unique hands on mission service project. All students who send a letter, sharing what they learned from participating in Children’s Ministry Day 2016 will be sent a free “All For You” badge. Send your letter to: BSCM-Children Ministry Day, 8420 Runyan Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430.
WMU of Michigan encourages children’s ministry leaders to bring their students and participate at a location nearest them. If a leader is interested in having a Children Ministry Day for just their group, we can provide mission study materials for you. “Learning about missions is only the foundation; doing missions is putting God’s plan into action. Share the love of Jesus in Michigan! “
