RUN THE RACE: MICHIGAN GIRLS' MISSION CAMP 2016
Sue Hodnett - Baptist State Convention of Michigan
FENTON, MI – Here’s the question for Michigan girls and teen girls, “Are you ready for the best week of your summer?” Baptist State Convention of Michigan (BSCM) State Woman’s Missionary Union Director, Sue Hodnett is inviting girls to take a boat ride, visit the miniature golf course, cast a fishing line, swim in Bambi Lake, and learn about the wildlife of northern Michigan. But Hodnett adds, “The real attraction will be worshipping with friends from churches all over our state, working on service mission projects, and meeting with a missionary from Africa.”
“Run the Race” is the theme so several of the camp activates will take on a Summer Olympics focus, helping to share a world perspective of missions and spiritual needs around the world.
Through Bible-based activities and fellowship, campers are provided foundational knowledge of Christian principles, as well as, practical ways to share their faith and testimony. Along with activities that encourage physical and mental development, campers are involved in exciting, fun activities and camaraderie; they are also involved in activities that provide practical as well as challenging Christian development. God calls us to fellowship with others, share the Good News of God’s grace, and grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. At Girls Mission Camp, campers learn how God invites us to reach out to the world by being Christ’s presence to others every day!
